Biography
A native of Austin, Texas, General Gibbs was a member of his high school’s ROTC program, and planned to play football at UTA. When he arrived and the football program closed, he became a physical education major and also a ROTC member. He was assigned to a number of locations during his career, including Wiesbaden, Germany; Fort Benning, GA; Fort Campbell, KY; Fort Bragg, NC, Baghdad Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn; and Kabul, Afghanistan, during Operation Enduring Freedom.
